I wonder what I should work on in the garage next.......
I have reason to believe the brakes were done by the dealer we bought it at used, as they looked brand new. 10k later we took it in for an oil change, and they recommended replacing the rear brakes.
Why????
Well, the outer rear pad got wore down to nothing.
Not sure why, either. Caliper is good, pad slides are good.... Cleaned everything up, lubed it all nice, and installed some new pads.
Better than the squeaky groany things they put on, at least. Now I'm hoping for the fronts to wear out, because they are like new too, but noisy when in reverse.
Now that the weather is warm, the wife says she won't be using the garage anymore, so I get to start working on the Trans Am. Once I free it from its winter slumber parked sideways in the back of the garage. Just need to get some rolling stock for it.

In the last pic I see new pads and a non-machined rotor surface. Did you get them cut?

Yep, it's that time. I was at my parents' house yesterday helping my dad replace the water pump in his truck and I started looking at my Camaro doing a mental list of where I need to start. (My car is at their house because they have a big shop and I only have a small one car garage that has my wife's car in it.)

Nah, they were cut/replaced when the pads were put on 10k ago. They're like new, just a bit of surface rust.

Stick around for a decade. It may happen.....
